A great all round workout for children aged 10+
The Teen classes are perfect for an all round workout. Whilst doing martial arts you can learn effective defence techniques to help you cope with the modern world.
From breathing exercises, H.I.I.T, stretching exercises to cardio drills as well as high level technical tuition from an experienced Martial Art instructor team dedicated to giving you the best experience possible.
The activities that you’ll cover in a Choi Kwang Do Martial arts Class are designed with the twin objectives of developing valuable self-defense skills and enhancing health. You will:
Learn to ‘free your mind’ of the stresses of the day and mentally prepare for training
Warm your body up physically, so that it’s in the right state for training
Be trained in Choi Kwang Do Martial Art techniques
Develop the ability to link Martial Art techniques together in effective self defense combinations
Practice applying your Martial Art skills in safe and controlled exercises
Have fun kicking and punching the hell out of our thick padded martial art shield
Improve your body’s flexibility and range of motion
Far more interesting and engaging than going down the gym, our adult classes will give you a range of different workouts – aerobic, anaerobic, and probably without you realising it, a mental workout too.
The health benefits from any form of training and regular exercise are well publicised. But what most people don’t know is that the same type of training on a regular basis can often be counterproductive.
In order to stop this happening at PPCKD we ensure that you receive a completely different program of training every time you come to a martial art class. This ensures that you avoid any plateau’s you might normally get with training.
Whether it is cycling, running or cardio in the gym it is essential that you regularly mix up your work out. This ensures that your heart and lungs work the most efficiently at carrying oxygen to the muscles.
The other benefits of PPCKD is that we train you to use the body to generate power. This means that you don’t need to be a muscle bound fitness fanatic to step into a class and learn how to maximise the power of your techniques. The way in which the power is generated has come from years of research developing the power throughout the body, and not just the hands or arms. In fact the best opening lesson you can learn is to relax.
The benefits of this process is that you will actually get better joint movement the more you train as well as better co-ordination.
So leave the ego at the door and step into the Choi Kwang Do martial art family.
CKD has many effective techniques for dealing with a “Close Range” attack. “Close” being if someone is to grab your arm, throat or body.
Traditional Martial Arts will teach you that every defense should be an attack. Whilst this is a useful defense strategy in the ring, it won’t be as effective in the playground or the local pub.
Sometimes you might just need to release yourself from an attacker and if your size doesn’t help, we can teach you ways to use what you have to your best advantage.
As with any learn't movements it's best to maintain regular practise, start yours today.
Age and Experience
Today is the best age to start and no experience is necessary.
PPCKD will help your body to develop, your joints will become more supple, your muscles will become stronger and your co-ordination will improve. So it doesn’t matter whether you are 5 or 95 you can come to a Martial Arts class, enjoy the training, develop skills and gain new friends.
So today really is the best day to start your journey into Martial Arts.
